Bambu Lab 2026

Bambu leads on speed and ease: A1 Mini, P1S, X1 Carbon, and the new H2D large-format. AMS multicolor is tightly integrated, and out-of-box print quality is excellent. The trade-off is a closed ecosystem — Bambu Cloud slicing, vendor filaments with RFID. Best for: sellers who want to print, not tinker; hobbyists who value speed and convenience over repairability.

A1 Mini (~£299) is the best value entry. P1S (~£699) adds enclosure and multicolor readiness. X1 Carbon (~£1,149) brings lidar and more automation. H2D (pre-order, ~£1,199) is the new 330×330×320mm large-format dual-extruder.

Prusa 2026

Prusa leads on reliability and community: MK4S, Mini+, and XL. Open source design, excellent documentation, and a user base that fixes and improves their machines. Best for: people who want to understand their printer and fix it themselves; anyone who values longevity and repairability over raw speed.

MK4S (~£699) is the iterative upgrade to MK4 with improved input shaping. Mini+ (~£399) has the lowest running cost per hour (£0.131) and smallest build volume. XL is the multi-tool flagship for professionals.

Creality 2026

Creality leads on budget and volume: Ender 3 V3 SE, K1, K1 Max. Largest mod ecosystem, aggressive pricing, variable quality control. Best for: budget buyers, tinkerers, and print farms where low cost per machine matters more than hand-holding.

Ender 3 V3 SE (~£169) is the cheapest entry. K1 (~£349) and K1 Max (~£449) offer CoreXY speed and larger build volumes. Expect to tweak and tune; Creality machines often need more setup than Bambu or Prusa.
