How to use these slicer settings

These settings are starting points based on community consensus and manufacturer recommendations. Every printer and filament brand is slightly different — treat these as a baseline, not absolute values. Always print a temp tower when using a new filament brand, and adjust retraction based on your specific extruder and filament diameter tolerance.

Why your actual settings may vary

Filament moisture content, ambient temperature, nozzle wear, and even belt tension all affect optimal print settings. A humidity-loaded spool of PETG will need higher temps than a freshly-opened dry one. The values here assume a well-maintained printer and correctly stored filament.
