About LayerMath
Built by someone who lost money on Etsy first.
Most 3D print sellers lose money without realising — unaccounted electricity, Etsy platform fees, VAT, failed prints, packaging and labour quietly eat profit. LayerMath measures all of it, using the same Ofgem price cap and HMRC VAT thresholds your accountant uses.

- Import G-code to auto-fill weight and print time
- Real profit mode — back-calculate a listing price from target margin

“I used to guess my prices. LayerMath showed me I was losing £2.30 per order on Etsy fees alone. Doubled my margin in a week.”

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How do I price 3D prints to make a profit?+
Add up all costs — filament, electricity, labour, packaging, platform fees — then apply a markup. Most successful sellers use 150–300% markup on total production cost. On Etsy, after fees and shipping, a 200% markup typically yields a 30–40% net margin. Use the free calculator to find your break-even first, then set a target margin and let LayerMath back-calculate the listing price.
Is it really free?+
Yes. The core calculator is free forever with no sign-up. You only pay if you want Pro features like inventory, SKU, Etsy sync and multi-material.
Do I need to create an account?+
Not for the free calculator. For Pro, you create an account so your spools, SKUs and history sync across devices.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes. Cancel from your account page and you keep Pro until the end of the billing period.
What currencies and taxes are supported?+
Supports £, $, €, CA$, A$. Handles UK/EU VAT, B2B reverse charge and US sales tax defaults.

From the founder
I started LayerMath after losing money on my own Etsy 3D-print shop in 2024 because I priced from filament cost only. The calculator and every cost rule on this site comes from running an actual shop, talking with ~120 sellers between Jan–May 2026, and analysing ~1,800 anonymised pricing sessions.
